Browser-based Real-Time Event Tracing

An abundance of data can sometimes obscure important indicators of plant performance. OnlineInsight is a collection of web based applications that present real-time data and events visually to plant managers, control room operators and engineers. By collating the data into accessible forms, OnlineInsight facilitates the discovery of performance improvements, as well as the maintenance of ideal operating conditions.
The data is also used by the Event tracing function, which provides authenticated users with access to an interactive Process Flow Data Model schematic of their specific operating environment. The event detection and tracing algorithms continuously monitor the performance of the plant in the background, with user-determined Key Performance Indicators based upon the relationships previously uncovered by Discover*e. If and when an event is detected, the tracing algorithm will follow the event trail upstream for possible causal events. The most likely causes of the event are immediately shown to the user. This new information can also be used to predict and prevent future events of the same nature from occurring.
An event may be a stepwise change in conditions, an unusual rate change, an oscillation or other repetitive pattern, or a specific limit excursion. The user is also free to define custom events for their environment.
