Paul Sheremeto – President and CEO
Paul is the President and CEO of Pattern Discovery Technologies Inc. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Civil Engineering program. He is a veteran of the software industry, having served in executive capacities with both entrepreneurial and established software firms for the past 20 years.
Prior to joining Pattern Discovery in February of 2004, Paul was VP Sales at Sitraka Inc., a recognized leader in the Java development space. He participated in the successful acquisition of Sitraka by Quest Software in November of 2002. Before working with Sitraka, Paul spent 15 years in the Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) marketplace with Auto-trol Technology and Rand Worldwide.
Yang Wang, PhD. – VP and CTO
Dr. Yang Wang is a co-founder of Pattern Discovery and inventor of the patented data mining and data analysis technology that form the foundation of Production Intelligence. Since founding Pattern Discovery, he has managed and contributed to both R&D projects and consulting projects with various clients.
Earlier in his career, he was the deputy director (1992) of the R&D department of the Chinese International Association for Promotion of Science and Technology (CIAPST).
Yang received his B.Eng. (1989) in Electronic Engineering and his M.Eng. (1991) in Systems Engineering from Tshinghua University, Beijing, China. He graduated from the University of Waterloo in 1997 with his Ph.D. in Systems Design Engineering. He is an adjunct professor in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo and a member of IEEE and ACM.
Leonard Slipp – VP Product Development
Leonard joined Pattern Discovery in April, 2004, and is currently responsible for the management of Pattern Discovery’s petroleum initiatives in Western Canada, principally in the oil sands area.
Prior to joining Pattern Discovery, Leonard worked at Sitraka, Inc. where he was a Software Product Manager for the JProbe and JClass product lines, and Director of the Client Services team. Earlier in his career, he was responsible for large-scale software development in medical imaging and ocean mapping.
Leonard received his MBA (Science and Technology) from Queens University, Kingston, ON in 1999, and his MSc (Computer Science) from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, NB in 1985.
Shamez Kotadia – Director, Strategic Initiatives
Shamez Kotadia is a senior project manager, with extensive experience in software engineering and decision support applications. Based in Calgary, he has worked for nearly 20 years helping industry in architecting and deploying information technology solutions. Past positions held by Shamez include a variety of program management and technical management roles for companies such as General Dynamics Canada Ltd., NeuroArm Surgical Ltd., Alberta Innovates Technology Futures, Nortel Networks and Mobil Oil Canada Ltd. Shamez is a graduate of University of Calgary, with B.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
Jeff McMahon – Director, Research and Development
Jeff joined Pattern Discovery in February, 2000. He currently leads Pattern Discovery’s development team.Prior to his life at Pattern Discovery, Jeff spent time as a software developer/architect, corporate trainer, technical editor, and adjunct faculty at Trent University’s Computer Science department.
Jeff has a B.Sc and M.Sc from Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario.
